In short

  • Promote real products you have the right to sell, with honest words and images you are allowed to use.
  • No adult, illegal, deceptive, hateful or dangerous products or content.
  • No spam: no flooding boards, no misleading links, no fake engagement.
  • Follow Pinterest's Community Guidelines and merchant guidelines at all times.
  • Breaking these rules can lead to a warning, a pause on publishing, or account suspension.

This summary helps you read quickly. The full text below is what applies.

01What the Studio is for

The Studio helps sellers market real products on Pinterest: handmade goods, jewellery, home decor, fashion, digital products, crafts and similar items sold on Etsy, Shopify or your own store. Use it to write honest pins that help people discover what you sell.

02Products and content that are not allowed

  • Adult or sexually explicit products, services or content, or sites that show such content or ads.
  • Illegal products, drugs, weapons, explosives, or anything that requires a licence you do not have.
  • Counterfeit or replica goods, or products that copy another brand's trademarks.
  • Gambling, betting, get-rich-quick, paid survey or crypto earning schemes.
  • Health products that claim to cure, treat or prevent diseases, or weight loss claims that are not proven.
  • Hateful, harassing, violent or discriminatory content.
  • Misleading content: fake discounts, fake scarcity, fake reviews, or links that go somewhere different from what the pin shows.
  • Content that uses someone's personal information or image without permission.
Situation

Your site sells a legal product, but the landing page shows adult pop-up ads.

What happens

This is not allowed. Sending Pinterest traffic to pages with adult ads breaks Pinterest's rules and ours, even if the product itself is fine. Remove the ads before promoting the page.

03Images and copyright

  • Use your own product photos, photos you have licensed, or AI-generated images you have the rights to.
  • Do not use photos copied from other sellers, brands or Pinterest pins.
  • Do not use famous characters, logos or celebrities in pins unless you have permission.
Situation

A brand reports that your pin uses their photo.

What happens

Pinterest may remove the pin and limit your account. Remove the image and replace it with your own. Repeated copyright problems can lead to suspension from the Studio.

04Using AI drafts responsibly

  • Read every draft before approving. You are responsible for what you publish.
  • Correct any wrong facts about material, size, colour, origin or ingredients.
  • Remove claims you cannot prove, especially about health, safety or results.
  • Keep pins clear and honest. Curiosity hooks are fine; misleading hooks are not.
Situation

A curiosity hook draft says This changed my life forever for a phone case.

What happens

Edit it to something honest that still grabs attention, such as The phone case everyone keeps asking about.

05No spam or platform abuse

  • Do not publish large numbers of identical or near-identical pins.
  • Keep a natural pace. Our default is a few pins a day per account.
  • Do not connect accounts you do not own or manage with permission.
  • Do not try to break, overload, reverse-engineer or get around limits in the Studio or the Pinterest API.
  • Do not use the Studio to collect other people's data.
Situation

You set up ten new Pinterest accounts to post the same pins.

What happens

This looks like bulk spam to Pinterest and can get all those accounts restricted. We may block publishing for accounts that show this pattern.

06What happens if a rule is broken

StepWhenWhat happens
1. WarningFirst minor issueWe tell you what is wrong and how to fix it
2. Publishing pauseIssue not fixed, or repeatedPublishing is paused until it is fixed; drafts are kept
3. SuspensionSerious or repeated breach, illegal content, or risk to othersAccess to the Studio is ended; no refund for the current period

For illegal content or content that puts people at risk, we may skip straight to suspension and report it where the law requires.

07Report a problem

If you see a pin made with the Studio that breaks these rules, or someone pretending to be GrowMyPin, tell us on WhatsApp: wa.me/growmypin. You can also report pins directly to Pinterest.
